About

As a little girl, I did not play dress up, twirl on my toes, or aspire to be a princess. Instead I liked to dig in the dirt, run it through my fingers, and plant leaves and flowers plucked off nearby trees and bushes...

It is not surprising that my childhood passion lead me down the road to landscape architecture. I graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a degree in landscape architecture, went back to earn my MLA/ASLA credentials and decided I wanted to take on the challenge of landscaping in a high altitude environment somewhere in the mountains.

In 1992, I followed my heart to the breathtaking mountain town of Telluride, Colorado. Nestled at the end of a box canyon and surrounded by towering 13,000 foot peaks. Telluride is the ultimate source of inspiration for natural and organic design. I am so fortunate to be inspired every time I look out my window.

In 2006, quite by accident, I opened the Gardenstore, a retail shop featuring gardening supplies, flowers and plants, fresh cut flowers and a few home décor items in the mix. That small retail store has grown and blossomed into Gardenstorehome.com.  I’m so thrilled to be able to share the unique products inspired by the natural beauty of Telluride with everyone who lives outside our box canyon.
